Trippers Remorse

from Future Ghosts EP by Stoney Sills

/

about

Originally written about 5 years ago. Was inspired by the legend of, Acid Park, which is now the Vollis Simspon Whirligig Park, in Wilson, NC. Before those structures where moved & restored, the ghost story behind Vollis's farm gained many false ghost tales. I took some of the myth & went my own way with it in this song, maybe you'll dig it.

lyrics

Hey Sarah I know its not your fault,
so let's forget about yesterday, check out what I bought.
2 sheets of acid and the nights of our lives,
we can be criminals and outrun Barney Fife.
She said hellyeah, you know that's the truth,
so we sat alone for hours, spinning sonic youth.
And the Hours flew by and I hit the wall,
we parted our ways and I said that I'd call.
Then to my car and I'm swerving about,
blasting Bad Brains as loud as I can shout.
But the trip was too much and I lost all control,
not a moment to spare to pray for my soul.
By now I've not called you and you think I've lied,
but darling I've transcended like Jim Morrison, to the other side.
